Single Launch less than 2 weeks away!!

Eeeeeehhh!!!

If you haven't been under a rock and you 'Like' our Facebook page you can listen to the single. Download card upon entry to the launch, and last Jimi show :o( Press release with a hint of news to come is down below for your reading pleasure....

In Feb 2011 the band released their self-titled debut album on prestigious garage rock label, Off the Hip Records. This has been followed by successful shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, sharing the stage with Spain’s garage rock-legends Los Chicos, and local legends Brothers Grim and the Blue Murders and the Toot Toot Toots. Not willing to stand still for long, the band headed back to the studio with Rocket Science’s Paul Maybury in May 2012 to record 13 new tracks for their second album, due for release in December 2012. The band will be taking a 5 month hiatus from late June while various members head overseas, so La Bastard are leaving you with a little gift to tide you over until their triumphant return – a 3 track single featuring the tropical ‘Take Me Away’, ‘Pitch Black’ a manic tale of things that go bump in the night, plus a special sneak peak at the new album with the explosive psychobilly rampage of ‘Stranger in the Night’.
The band will launch the new single at the John Curtin Bandroom, 29 Lygon St on Friday 22nd June. Joining them will be two of Melbourne’s hottest bands, the Peep Tempel and the Velocettes. Remember – this will be the band’s LAST show until the end of the year, and their VERY LAST with bass player Jimi. Come and give him a send-off to remember!

We have some interviews etc. lined up, so keep your eyes/ears peeled at RRR/PBS Beat and Inpress and whatever other Melbourne music institutions we manage to harass into paying us attention!

Album Review In Beat Magazine 25th April 2012

This looks GREAT!!

Brothers Grim Support 18th May 2012

Looks like this will be our next Melbourne show!

You can pre-purchase tickets for this HERE as the line for our last show meant lots of people missed out on La Bastard. This will probably sell out anyway, regardless of us playing or not, because it's The Brothers Grim!!!

On that note, apologies for those stuck in the line for up to an hour who wanted to see us or Mesa Cosa play. We have some great shows coming up over the next few months before our temporary hiatus while Ben and myself both do some work/holiday travels.

We're heading back into the studio very soon to knock over our second album, as well as making tentative plans for some digital singles to be released which is exciting. Maybe we can try and squeeze in another video clip or two to boot!

The last few shows we've done, especially with Los Chicos and Mesa Cosa have been fun. I can't imagine you cats getting more wild!
